StoryBox Library

A place where the wonderful world of Australian children's literature is on permanent exhibit; StoryBox Library is a beautiful online ‘reading room’ that connects children with literature through the complementary medium of film.

StoryBox Library provides the audience with a vibrant, interactive experience via a diverse range of storytellers, each sharing past and present book titles.

  • To access StoryBox Library: Connect via the website and sign in with your Victoria Park Library membership card number.
  • To watch on a computer: Stream videos of books being read aloud from your web browser.
  • To watch on a device: Connect to the website via your device's web browser, then stream videos of books being read aloud on your mobile device or tablet.

BorrowBox

Borrow from a collection of hundreds of Australian and international kids books. Use your library card to login via the BorrowBox website.

Note: This site is not filtered. Parents/carers are advised to monitor their child's usage of this website.

Libby

WA Public Library and State Library members can borrow and read or download thousands of eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines. To ensure content being displayed is suitable for kids you need to use the Juvenile filter, available via Preferences.

Borrowing limit 10 items
Reserves Reserve up to five items (excludes current loans). You will be notified once the title is available to download. Note: you need to add an email address in the ‘Manage Notifications’ section.
Loan period 7, 14 or 21 days. After you select Borrow, select the underlined loan period on the confirmation page. Then, select a new loan period for that title.
Renewing items Loans can be renewed from the Loans Page. Select 'Manage Loan', ‘Renew Loan’, then ‘Renew’.
Returning items You can return titles before they expire by selecting 'Return' under the title you'd like to return.
  • To access Libby: Connect via the website.
  • To set up a Libby account: Register as a Victoria Park Library member with your membership card number and sign in.
  • To read on a computer: Read your borrowed titles online from your web browser. Note: the website works best in up-to-date versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
  • To read on a device: Download and install the free Libby app - Apple or Android - to your device, then download them directly to your device. Or if you have an ereader that's compatible with Adobe Digital Editions (ADE), you can download Libby books on a computer, then use ADE to transfer them to your device.

Comics Plus

eComics, graphic novels and manga for kids

Comics Plus is a digital platform offering thousands of digital comics, graphic novels and manga to library members.

Borrowing limit Unlimited
Load period Checkouts are for seven days. After seven days the title goes dormant, but stays in your personal collection
Renewing items In MY SHELF click on the cover and it will be available again for another seven days
Returning items In MY SHELF hover over the cover and click on the '-' symbol to remove item from shelf
  • To access Comics Plus: Connect via the website.
  • To set up a Comics Plus account: Log in with your Victoria Park Library card and PIN number. Please note it is case sensitive.
  • To read on a computer:Read your titles online from your web browser.
  • To read on a device: Download and install the free LibraryPass app - Apple or Android- to your device, then download them directly to your device.

Comics Plus


hoopla Kids Mode

hoopla is a digital media service that allows library members to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on their computer or mobile device with no holds or waiting. hoopla offers a massive catalogue of more than 900,000 titles (and growing) which are instantly available to members.

Once you have set up your account you will need to turn Kids Mode on (from top of screen). hoopla Kids Mode is a setting designed to make discoverability of children's content easier for parents and kids. All content shown in the Kids Mode has been deemed suitable for children up to 12 years of age.

Borrowing limit Members can borrow up to 4 instant titles per month
Reserves As there is simultaneous access there is no need to reserve titles. However, you can add titles to your Favourites so you can access them later
Loan period 3 days for eVideos, 7 days for music albums and 21 days for eAdiobooks, eBooks and eComics
  • To access hoopla: Connect via the website
  • To create a hoopla account: Click Get Started, then enter email address and password. Search for Town of Victoria Park Library, then add your library card. Note: In order to access this resource you must have a Victoria Park Library card. Our cards all have the prefix CL130V.
  • To watch on a computer: Read, watch or listen from your web browser.
  • To watch on a device: hoopla has an app for both iOS and Android-based devices. Download hoopla from the Apple App Store or Google Play store. Note: if accessing hoopla on a mobile device you must download the app. It will not work through the mobile browser. You can also access hoopla via Amazon or ChromeCast.

LOTE4Kids

LOTE4Kids is an online database of digital books in World Languages, that allows kids to enjoy the magic of books in LOTE (Languages Other Than English). Each book comes with English translations to help kids learn languages.

LOTE4Kids has over 4,500+ picture books in 70+ languages, with new books and languages released each month!

  • To access LOTE4Kids: Connect via the website and sign in with your Victoria Park Library membership card number.
  • To watch on a computer: Stream videos of books being read aloud from your web browser.
  • To watch on a device: Download the LOTE4Kids app. Search for Town of Victoria Park, then sign in with your Victoria Park Library card to stream videos of books being read aloud on your mobile device or tablet.
