Books and films are available to borrow in many languages in person or through the catalogue (under advanced search – preferred language). Items in our multilingual collection rotate every year and the collection includes items for adults and children. Languages may include Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Croatian, Dutch, Farsi, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Noongar, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Thai, Turkish, Ukranian, Urdu and Vietnamese!

Learn English at home

The Library offers a range of materials to help further English practice at home. Borrow any of our ESL textbooks, easy-to-read fiction, instructional DVDs, conversational books and audiobooks and study guides. Prefer online? No worries! Borrow magazines, books and audiobooks through Libby or books and audiobooks through BorrowBox.

Try English language classes online through Universal Class and practice beginner English speaking skills, basic ESL grammar and introductory ESL writing.

Want to learn a new language with your kids? LOTE4Kids is an online database of digital books used to explore a variety of languages from around the world!
