Realia is the term used for three-dimensional objects within the Local History Collection. These are usually small items that were part of local people’s everyday life, they might also have been given as gifts or trophies for competitions.
Art Prints
Whilst not three-dimensional and thus an exception to the rule, these prints are nevertheless still special items.
Chris Keen Art Collection
The art prints in the Chris Keen Art Collection, are believed to have been made around the time that the Town of Victoria Park commissioned its first listing of heritage buildings and places in the Town. Chris Keen, also sometimes known as Kris Keen, but never by his first name of John, always by a version of Christopher, was part of the team who worked on the Municipal Heritage Inventory that was published in June 2000.
We do not know the address of all the buildings depicted in the collection, but where it is known it has been noted in the records. To see more details about each print in the collection please see the individual catalogue record for the print in the Library’s catalogue.
To see the complete Chris Keen Art Collection on the catalogue choose the ‘Advanced Search’ option, then select ‘Series title’ from one of the drop down boxes and type the series title: ‘Chris Keen Art Collection’.
